Caleb Rumley is a trombonist, arranger, and composer. He is the bandleader of Big Beat Big Band, a funky-RnB big band which he leads with his wife Allison Rumley.

As an arranger and composer, he has received the 360 Jazz Initiative Composer Award and is a former member of the BMI Jazz Composer’s Workshop. He was invited to be a special guest composer for the late Diane Moser on four separate occasions. He has collaborated on arrangements with artists like Steve Turre, James Austin, and Randy Brecker. His music has been performed by several middle schools, high schools, and universities.

In 2019, Big Beat Big Band released a crowdfunded full-length album that received rave reviews in the jazz press. The group has also performed with guest artists such as Peter Bernstein, Pete McGuinness, Duane Eubanks, Freddie Hendrix, and Rich Perry.

Caleb has performed as a trombonist with various groups in the area such as The Bobby Sinabria Big Band, Remember Jones, The One More Once Big Band, the New Jersey Arranger’s Big Band, and the The Diane Moser Composer’s Big Band.

In the corporate entertainment realm, Caleb has performed with many wedding agencies in the tri-state as a for-hire trombonist. He enjoys staying active with any group that will have a trombone, let it be jazz, salsa, funk, rock, or anything in-between!
